Blizzards admits item hunting isn't a sustainable endgame

Blizzard’s community manager, Bashiok, made a couple statements when Diablo III’s sustainability came into question .  I would have to agree that there isn’t a lot of content that keeps pulling back the player for more and some other problems .  While Bashiok states PvP arenas are coming in version 1.1, it’s still a long ways away.  He also states, “We have some ideas for progression systems, but honestly it’s a huge feature if we want to try to do it right, and not something we could envision being possible until well after 1.1 which it itself still a ways out.”  What these progression systems are are not elaborated on, of course.  Granted people are not paying a monthly fee for Diablo III unlike WoW, so it’s unclear how much Blizzard can or wants to truly put into Diablo III in terms of new content and features without getting into expansion pack territory.  The only questions left are how long will the Diablo III players wait for more content and how long will the item hunt last.
