iPhone stolen and documented on Facebook

So an interesting development happened when I was looking through the Disney news today.  Apparently while aboard the Disney Wonder, a woman’s iPhone was stolen .  Big whoop right?  Why should I care?  Well she actually used the technology to track down the thief, provide the evidence to Disney, and get her iPhone back.  Katy McCaffrey, the victim, setup her iPhone to send photos to the cloud courtesy of Apple’s Photo Stream.  Whenever the thief took a picture, it posted it to the cloud and Katy was able to see it.  It eventually lead to Katy creating a facebook story of her iPhone and “Nelson” , the man that stole her iPhone.  Katy compiled the evidence, sent it to Disney, and Disney now put the alleged thief on administrative leave … and the phone is being returned to its rightful owner.  Score one for technology.
