Kingdoms of Amalur updates

So the question on everyone’s mind is what happens now after the whole Kingdoms of Amalur debacle.  Well first off, let’s start with the news about the hard working staff that brought the game to life.  The developers from Big Huge Games landed safety at EPIC games recently and formed a team called “Impossible Studios”.  They will be working on Infinity Blade: Dungeons, an iOS action RPG announced back in March, with ChAIR Entertainment .  Good to see that they found a place for these talented folks.

As for the Kingdoms of Amalur franchise, the owner of the name, assets, and intellectual property is no other than the state of Rhode Island itself .  Rhode Island was given permission to take over the assets as a contract was signed during the loan process that entitled them to the assets if Schilling and company were unable to pay back the loan.  Rhode Island is hoping to sell the assets to another studio to help pay back some / all of the loan that was given to 38 Studios.  If they can’t sell it, let’s see Rhode Island pump out some DLC.  I’m sure they can think of something…
