Well Mega Man fans wanted a new Mega Man game for his 25th anniversary and guess what? They got one! However, I would be careful what you wish for as this game is nothing like Mega Man fans were expecting or wanting. Say hello to Mega Man Xover.
So Mega Man is going mobile on iOS in his upcoming "social" game. Yes, I said social and I still have no clue what that has to do with this game. If you're interested in a gameplay preview, feel free to check out the demo below, but be warned... you may want to keep all breakable items out of reach.
Now I know what you're thinking... this is the best Capcom can come up with for a character that basically made them famous back in the NES days ( aside from all the awesome Disney games ). Mega Man, a series that is well-known for its difficulty, is not meant to be played with one finger and with an auto-play feature (yes you can have the game play itself). I may sound unhappy about this game design choice but I'm not the only one . In fact, someone made a Flash version of Mega Man Xover in under 24 hours to express their disgust with Capcom's actions.
I think it is official. Capcom is either waging war against Mega Man fans and trying to anger them or this is the path they believe Mega Man should take. If it is the latter, then Capcom should probably take a step back and listen to their fans as this is not the direction the series should be heading. Terrible decision Capcom and I hope we get a true Mega Man game in the near future or they just stop entirely before the brand is diminished beyond the point of no return.
