From a well known creator of Mega Man, Keiji Inafune, comes a game paying homage to Mega Man. To be honest, someone has to because Capcom seems to be dragging its feet with a new Mega Man title. Mighty No. 9 might be just the thing Mega Man fans are looking for and Inafune is just the guy to deliver a high quality replica.
Mighty No. 9 is currently slated for PC but there is a Kickstarter with some stretch goals setup to get the game on other consoles such as the Wii U, PS3, and XBOX 360. The game currently has 29,372 backers and has raised $1,689,270 as of this writing and it needs $2.2 million to get to the other consoles. At its current pace this should be a piece of cake with 25 days to go. Renegade Kid also recently posted on Twitter that it wants to help bring Mighty No. 9 come to 3DS and that’s, to be honest, what I am waiting for. As much as I like the idea of playing the game, I think this genre fits perfectly on the 3DS and portable systems in general.
Pledge $20 or more and a digital copy is yours. I’m on the fence currently, but we’ll see if some additional stretch goals make me want to make the plunge.
