Engadget reports that the six year Gravity Probe B mission by NASA has helped to confirm one of the tenets of Einstein's relativity theory - that high-gravity objects have the ability to warp space and time.  The mission was originally conceived 50 years ago but technology didn't exist to test the theory until recently.  It's a fascinating illustration of the importance of the space work NASA does.
