I'm not going to lie... Homer has been like a second father to me over the years.  He's an amazing character and the Simpsons is an all-around great cartoon.  However, a report from the Daily Beast is stating it could finally be coming to an end.  According to the article, Fox wants the main voice actors to take a 45% pay cut in order to keep the show running.  The actors proposed "to take a cut of around 30% in exchange for a tiny percentage of the show’s huge back-end profits—amounting to untold billions—from syndication around the globe and merchandising of Simpsons clothing, lunchboxes, stamps, DVDs, a feature film, and videogames, among other paraphernalia".  That proposal was rejected by Fox and Fox stated that if the actors do not accept the agreement the show would be cancelled.

Come on Fox.  Share some dough with the folks making you the dough.  The Simpsons is still my all-time favorite cartoon even though it has been in a steady decline as of the last couple seasons.  Here's hoping they come to an agreement and keep Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie in our lives just a couple more years.

This time, instead of complaining about ultra-violence in games, Fox decides to posit that games like Sim City Societies and Flower are using fear and intimidation of players to promote a liberal environmental agenda.  No embedding here because Fox's embed script is about as intelligent as their presenters.

This would be simply laughable if it wasn't for the fact that parents who watch this program and who may have purchased games like Sim City Societies for their children now won't, and the children could miss out on an important object lesson that can't really be taught in schools.

Ah, there's nothing that proves how out of touch and outdated you are by having your "man's man" share a laugh with two breezy blondes about how men above the age of 25 apparently shouldn't be gaming any more.

I don't know what the crossover is between people who watch "Jersey Shore" and who are familiar with the old Final Fantasy RPG's, but if you're in that group, you'll find this hilarious.

Everyone's favorite Mon Calamari is the target of a campaign to have him named as the mascot of the Ole Miss football program.

ESPN featured the issue in a recent commercial.

Science blogger Phil Plait has a pilot on Discovery Channel called "Bad Universe." It is not yet a full-blown series, but hopefully it will become one. In the series Phil discusses the hard science around issues such as asteroid impacts and debunks junk science and Hollywood mythos. From the preview it looks to have the same irreverant feel that "Mythbusters" has.

For those who do not know me, I am a huge Star Wars Fan.  Not a Fan-boy, nor fanatic… I don’t “love” everything that has been done, and you won’t see me donning stromtrooper armor or going to conventions.

I enjoy the Clone Wars cartoon with my children, but I don’t think it is the be-all end-all of SW storytelling.

I am looking forward to the Live-action, hour long series they are currently working on, though details are still slim as to when or where this will air… but the rumors are that they have written the first 25 episodes, of the planned 100, and have involved some of the writers from Battlestar Galactica which gives me faith.
