When people think of Nintendo, they typically think that Nintendo are innovators in the gaming industry.  Whether it is motion control, 3D without glasses, or dual screen systems, Nintendo continues to push the bar in the creativity department.  Then why the heck is Nintendo's first venture into paid/free DLC (downloadable content) starting with the 3DS?  It's not like DLC is something that was just thought of yesterday.

Well it is because Nintendo is always late to the party with many aspects of their systems.  Starting with online gaming, and apparently now with DLC for its systems.  Announced recently, Fire Emblem 3DS will be the first Nintendo title to offer DLC content and Nintendo will also be providing a system update to allow 3rd party publishers to sell DLC for other games as well.  I for one welcome the new DLC and while I am unsure as to whether or not I would get Fire Emblem 3DS, I am happy that Nintendo is finally jumping on the DLC train and allowing others to join in.
