Well it took a price drop, but Nintendo's 3DS finally surpassed 4 million units sold in the U.S. It had a strong holiday season and also is selling like hotcakes because of Super Mario 3D Land (> 1 million units sold) and Mario Kart 7 (> 1 millions units sold). You can expect the system to continue to sell well with the upcoming games this year: Resident Evil: Revelations, Tales of the Abyss, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater, Animal Crossing 3DS, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Luigi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario 3DS, Heroes of Ruin, and several others. Sometimes it pays to be the first handheld system out in a generation. Let's see if Nintendo can keep fending off Sony's Vita in the long run.
