Razer has been delivering some cutting edge, hardcore gaming peripherals since the 1990’s. The company had a lull around the millennium change but soon surged back into the forefront of cutting edge gaming technology with everything from perfect surface mousepads to backlit keyboards and ultra hi-fidelity optical laser mice with 15 buttons.
Pushing the gaming envelope in a new way, Razer is now offering a product that I believe will challenge the mobile platforms of Vita and 3DS, and has the chance to truly transform where PC gaming is going. Razer has unveiled “Project Fiona”, a handheld gaming PC in tablet format with touch screen and integrated dual analog sticks.
The device is targeting a sub $1000 price point which has the potential to garner it enough marketshare that bleeding edge early adopters may snatch up enough of these devices to push the rest of the competition to take notice and iterate on the idea. If you still need to game in a more traditional sense, you can also check out the Razer Blade.
