At PAXEast this year one of the panels we attended was about the challenges people with varying levels of disability have either playing video games or even just accessing things over the internet.  Because the lives of people with disabilities can be so isolating, games and the internet bring much needed contact with others that some folks can't experience.

Alex Rigopulos, CEO of Boston-based Harmonix, has donated $10,000 to the Able Gamers Foundation, a group that advocates accessibility options in games and works with developers to help them understand how simple programming changes can make a vast difference to gamers with disabilities.

Rigopulos states "I hope that my support of the AbleGamers Foundation will insipre others within this industry to do the same."
