Last week I wrote about how the PR firm hired to promote Duke Nukem: Forever spewed a bunch of vitriol on their Twitter feed about negative reviews and implied that reviewers would end up on an enemies list.
In spite of his vigorous retractions, Redner was summarily dropped by 2K Games as their PR firm for DNF.
Yesterday Redner took to Wired to present "My side of the Duke Nukem Twitter 'Brain Fart'" Although Redner did make some good points about some of the issues that exist in the game review world, overall the article came across as a peevish rant that just buried Redner deeper in his hole of failure and seemed to doom Redner to never work in PR again. I am at a loss for words when I consider that someone who supposedly works in public relations, nay owns his own PR firm, can be so utterly clueless when it comes to dealing with criticism of his clients and talking about the industry he works in.
For a far more colorful take on the Redner article, you can read Destructoid reviewer Jim Sterling's column. My favorite line from the article: "Apparently he wasn’t that sorry since he still stands by everything he apologized for, and my apology email looks rather hollow reflected in this new light."
