Boston has a thriving independent game development community, in addition to professional design houses such as Harmonix.

On June 20th, Boston Indies, a group that helps coordinate activites for those independent devs, held a demo night to see what devs are working on.  The results are pretty diverse and innovative - dungeon crawlers, maze games, conversation engines, mobile games, and many others.

It's really great to see some innovative design going on in our backyard.  Not every fun game has to be a AAA title with a $100M development budget.  I hope some of these games make it to market and gain their developers some well-deserved attention.
