As a great man once said, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is, “The modernist of warfares”. This is the third iteration of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series set in a fictional modern era, pitting Soap and Price against the ‘Russian’ enemy. The game delivers about 6 to 8 hours of single player campaign and as expected delivers a great online multiplayer experience that will last as long as you keep playing it. It does not deviate or stray from it’s intended course and continues to deliver on what has made the franchise successful.

This time though, there is a little extra wrinkle to the Call of Duty release. While delivering more of the same, Activision is also delivering a little something extra to bring your online killing, ‘to the next level’. Introducing Call of Duty Elite.

The COD Elite service is a social media website designed to bring the COD community together to create clans and share/compare stats through Facebook and the COD Elite application on your console. the service is subscription based and offers various levels of information and bonuses based on your subscription level. To see what the internet thinks, check the following reviews.

Mike Schramm at Joystiq fires off (4.5/5): “Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer is some of the series' strongest, and the co-op offerings have been expanded tenfold.”

Jeff Gerstmann at Giant Bomb storms the front lines (4/5): “It doesn't make grand changes to the things that have worked in the past, though it does make some smart additions that some will certainly appreciate.”

Jim Sterling at Destructoid rallies the troops (9.5/10): “Whether you like what it does is a matter of personal taste, but the skill and experience brought to the table is hard to refute. Modern Warfare 3 gets it done, and it gets it done damn well.”

Joystiq delivers its metareview.

While most of the internet is in love with Call of Duty again, this release was not without its issues and craziness.

People who were lucky enough to find the game in stores early, were unlucky enough to risk losing their account when they did nothing wrong.

How popular is the Elite service? So popular it was overloaded on day one.

Sorry, you missed out on this great deal on eBay, COD four days early for only $1725.00 USD.
