It’s no secret I am very much looking forward to getting my talons deep into Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Picked up my copy on the way into work thank you very much. The combat feels really good and the world looks fantastic. My only time hands on time has been with a demo where story and plot development would not have a chance to shine. It looks like that might be Reckoning’s one flaw but that shouldn’t stop you from playing it as the reviews suggest.

Kyle Orland at Ars is is critical but... (Verdict: Try It): “If you're expecting a good action game that bends over backwards to let you customize your character to fit your style, you won't be disappointed. If you're expecting a game that lets you play a major role in a memorable, epic story, you're out of luck.”

Richard Mitchell at Joystiq tempts fate (5/5): “Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning presents a world that is immaculately crafted and beautiful, yet still simple and accessible.”

Jim Sterling at Destructoid seals his destiny ( 8.0/10): “It is a game designed, from beginning to end, as little more than an indulgent power fantasy, pure escapism where players get to be anything they want to be, and feel awesome doing it.“

And feel free to give the Giant Bomb quick look a, well a look...
