Joystiq reports that PS3 owners will finally get the ability to use Netflix streaming as a regular application without the need for the special Netflix disx on Monday October 18th.  The PS3 will also support 5.1 channel audio on streaming movies and an increasing number of movies in 1080p resolution.

XBox360 owners will receive an update to their application with the Fall Update.
