UPDATE: Joystiq reports that the original registrant of the domain is Anthony Abraham of Miami, FL.
Back in 2009, someone registered the domain ModernWarfare3.com, and it wasn't Activision.
Recently the site began redirecting people to EA's upcoming competing shooter, Battlefield 3. When Activision began to dispute ownership of the domain, the site stopped the redirect and instead displayed videos and rants against the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise, calling it "a copy and paste experience that looks exactly like Modern Warfare 2."
Activision has disputed ownership of the domain with ICANN, the group responsible for policing domain registrations. They claim the registration was performed in bad faith and the registrant does not have the right to the domain.
This is an amusing development, but eventually Activision will probably prevail. The site is currently displaying a landing page rather than its previously provocative content.
