Fresh from Comic-Con 2011 is Abobo's Big Adventure. Abobo's Big Adventure is a homage to tons of NES characters and games all rolled into one. And best of all... it's FREE!
According to the developers, Abobo's Big Adventure is a game 10 years in the making and is being released for free (otherwise they would be sued for using copyrighted characters). For those that are thinking... what the heck? Abobo, that name sounds so familiar. Well it's because he is the big muscle guy from Double Dragon. The story is he shows up in Double Dragon to start off the game and his son is taken away (in true Double Dragon fashion). This then leads to an awesome 2 player co-op adventure that spans Double Dragon, Contra, and even games like Pro Wrestling to help Abobo save his son.
This labor of NES sprite love will be available as a free flash game and sometime in late September 2011.
