Bastion-960x335

I have given about two and a half hours to the endeavor of building the Bastion and I can say I have sincerely enjoyed it. It offers a unique art style and dialogue to deliver it’s take on the Action-RPG genre. It’s standout piece is the narrator who tells the story of The Kid dynamically, adjusting for your choices and mistakes. It’s clever, it’s fun and it’s only $15 kicking off the XBox 360 summer of Arcade. Here’s what other reviewers have said:

Joystiq’s Ludwig Keitzmann says it’s a polyphonic epiphany (4/5): “As much as I love being deafened by explosions and the end of civilization, there's a unique pleasure in seeing an imperfect, earnest vision coming from just a handful of developers. Bastion is a quiet explosion in reverse, and there's no mistaking its charms once it all comes together.”

Ars Technica’s Ben Kuchera says the real star is the near constant narration (Verdict: Buy) : “This is the kind of game that thrives on the Xbox Live Arcade. It's novel, the graphical style is striking, and it can be finished in an afternoon or two if you don't feel the need to finish every challenge and collect every upgrade.”

Giant Bomb has followed the games development since it’s earliest stages and the full background story can be found in the Building the Bastion series. While Giant Bomb does not offer a full review, they do offer a Quick Look to help influence your purchasing decision.

Yes No I have played this game through to the end twice now. What a fun and well made game. I am hoping that they will release the soundtrack. Kudos to Supergiant on their first game as a company! They nailed it.
