Four months after approving the merger of Comcast and NBC, and after opposing the FCC's attempts to impose limits on the deal, FCC Commissioner Meredith Atwell Baker will be leaving the FCC at the end of her term to join Comcast as a lobbyist.

While the move looks like a crass reward from Comcast for a job well done ensuring FCC approval of the merger, it unfortunately is a standard practice in Washington as people move between jobs in the private sector and seats on commissions policing those industries.
