The Boston Globe reports that the entertainment complex around Gillette Stadium, Patriot Place, has installed a number of solar panels to generate power for the facility.

The installation features 2,556 panels that will generate 625,000 kilowatt-hours of power.  Given all the technology that is in use at the facility it will be a welcome method of self-generating power to reduce the use of Massachusetts' primarily fossil-fuel generated power.  Hopefully the solar panels will also be a good way to market alternative energy generation to football fans.
