Jokes about black holes and the end of the world aside, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is one of the most interesting technical projects out there - a massive undertaking to try to understand the basic building blocks of matter and the origins of the universe.

Ars Technica recently posted a photo tour of the LHC, and if you love to look at big technology and how everything works together, it should be an enjoyable tour for you.
