Steve Kondik, one of the founders of popular Android ROM Cyanogenmod, has joined Samsung as a mobile software engineer.  He has stated that he will be "working on making Android more awesome."  This could mean that Samsung is looking to develop its own unique take on the Android UI similar to what HTC has done with SenseUI.  I used Cyanogen on my last Android phone and loved it, and I wish Steve all the best.
