An internship program developed by the City of Boston, the Private Industry Council, and Boston Public schools has been established to place talented inner-city kids in design internships with some of Boston's innovative firms.
Once placed, kids work with mentors in Boston firms and get exposed to many aspects of design work. Kids also learn important skills needed in a professional environment. While the program is small, I like internship programs like these that help kids understand that you don't need to go to San Francisco or Austin to get the opportunity to work for great design firms.
